The slain Mississippi sheriff’s deputy allegedly killed by a deranged gunman was remembered as a “child of God” by friends and who once baptized a man.

Lincoln County Deputy William Durr, 36, served as a youth minister and a mental health technician before starting his career in law enforcement, according to The Daily Leader.
