CHRIS A. COUROGEN, Of The Patriot-NewsDauphin County Sheriff Department Cpl. Thomas Strubhar, who recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan with the Air National Guard, presents Dauphin County Sheriff Jack Lotwick with a U.S. Flag that was flown during one of his unit's missions while Strubhar was deployed with the Air National Guard.
Dauphin County Sheriff Jack Lotwick paid tribute to his staff this afternoon during the Sheriff's Fifth Annual Awards Ceremony held in the Dauphin County Courthouse. Lotwick awarded commendations to seven of his deputies for their service. Also presented were 16 letters of commendation to staff members who participated in Operation Safe Surrender and five letters of commendation to officers for rendering first aid.
Lotwick also received an honor on behalf of his department. Cpl. Thomas Strubhar, who recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan with the Air National Guard, presented Lotwick with a U.S. Flag that was flown during one of his unit's missions. The flag was presented to the sheriff's department as a token of appreciation from the First Expeditionary Red Horse Group for the constant flow of care packages to the sheriff's department sent the unit while Strubhar was deployed.
