Forest County Chief Deputy Carbaugh Nabs Burglary Suspect
Douglas Martin, 45, of Jamestown, N.Y. was arrested for burglary following an incident at 5PM Friday at a residence off Roundtown Road in Farmington Township, Clarion County,state police in Tionesta said. after arriving home and finding his front door open, the 54 year old resident of the home heard the sound of a vehicle behind his house. When he went to investigate, he was nearly struck by the vehicle, driven by Martin as it departed the scene, police said. Inside the house the resident discovered several items were missing. Police put out an alert on the vehicle, and it was later stopped by Chief Deputy William Carbaugh of the Forest County Sheriff's Office in Marienville. Martin was taken into custody and charged with burglary. Forest County Sheriff Robert Wolfgang received a letter of appreciation from PA State Police Troop C for Deputy Carbaugh's swift and decisive action.
