Law Enforcement Work Together to Make Montour County a Safe Place

Local officers teamed up with Pennsylvania State Police Troopers in an effort to enhance the safety of the roadways and the community with saturation patrols in Montour County on Friday night into Saturday morning. A collaborative effort between the Pennsylvania State Police from Milton and Montoursville, officers from Danville, Mahoning Twp., Montour County Sheriff’s Office, Liquor Control Enforcement, Montour County Probation, and Northumberland County Probation resulted in several arrests. The results of the detail were as follows:

Ø      4 people arrested and jailed for probation violations

Ø      1 wanted person was arrested

Ø      2 people arrested for Driving Under the Influence

Ø      3 people arrested for drug offenses

Ø      1 person arrested for a federal parole violation

Ø      11 people cited with underage drinking

Ø      35 traffic citations issued

Ø      22 warnings issued for various vehicle code violations

Ø      Several licensed liquor establishments were checked with only minor violations found

This is a great example of law enforcement agencies working together to make the roadways and communities safer. More of these saturation patrols will be scheduled throughout the summer.
