Three Monroe County Deputies Receive Commendations
Monroe County Sheriff Todd A. Martin is proud to announce the most recent commendations that were presented and received by three of his veteran Deputy Sheriffs from the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop N Hazelton.   Deputy Garry Ciccone, Deputy Scott LaBar and Deputy Rickie Serfass were presented with "Letters of Commendation" by Captain James W. Murtin, Commanding Officer of Troop N which also included other presentations for a number of troopers and individuals from the general public. Those in attendance recognized were so for either their high level of performance, unselfish actions of assistance or their willingness to go "above and beyond" that which is expected, whether it be a singular act of heroism, the successful conclusion of a particular assignment, or sustained exemplary performance in their actions.   Captain Murtin's comments noted that each individual's actions had distinguished them among their peers and have been the subject of praise by their supervisors. Those actions also cast all in law enforcement in a very positive light in the eyes of the public we serve, a result we all benefit from.
