BRANDYWINE, Maryland — Prince George’s County police officer was fatally shot in Brandywine on Wednesday, and the suspect was shot and killed by responding law enforcement, police said.
The officer was shot “while stepping in to protect a woman threatened by a domestic situation,” police said.
The identity of the officer or the suspect have not been released. The Prince George’s County police chief was set to provide updates later this afternoon, the department wrote on Twitter.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive tweeted that agents were responding to help police.
