The Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association supports measures to increase the presence of law enforcement in the Commonwealth.

You can help by letting your lawmakers know that you support legislation that will restore in statute the law enforcement powers of Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs of Pennsylvania, and also by signing our online petition.

The Legislative Committee of the PA Sheriffs’ Association is in the process of drafting a piece of legislation which would allow the Commonwealth’s 2,300 fully trained deputy sheriffs to participate in law enforcement activities as needed in their communities. We are hopeful to have this legislation introduced in 2010. Once a bill is introduced, the information will be posted on our website.
