Thursday was the opening General Session and the session was conducted by incoming President Sheriff Tom Demko of Jefferson County.  That afternoon the training sessions got under way.  Training was a panel discussion concerning Protection From Abuse Orders and another session was conducted by Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Rape. At the Welcoming Reception, everyone ate the fabulous Philly food that was placed throughout the lobby of the Criminal Justice Center, the Mummers arrived and a lot of our guests let their hair down and danced with the Mummers. On Friday, we had another General Session and then we went to the Vietnam and Korean War memorial for the laying of the wreath - it was very moving.  That evening we had the President's Banquet. The Honor Guard presented the colors and our theme throughout the entire conference was"Remembering Our Troops".  The list of those Deputies who serve from the Office of Sheriff throughout Pennsylvania was read by Vietnam veteran Joseph McGinn. The Executive Committee was sworn in by the Honorable John Foradora and Past President Barry Jozwiak of Berks County passed the gavel to our newly elected President Tom Demko of Jefferson County.
